Scared of death? The only thing you should be scared of is life, as it opens up to unlimited possibilities of things to be scared of, whilst death puts an end to it all..

McDonalds Subliminal Advertising?

This YouTube video shows a guy who caught a quick glance of a McDonalds ad in the Food Network channel.

And also one guy from NikeTalk noted this..
I was just flipping through the channels and watched Rap City on BET for a little bit then it went on commercial...and I swear I saw a McDonald's logo, the big M, flash for a split second during this commercial promoting some album. Anyone else ever experience/notice this? 8o

Thanks NT for the info!

Do you remember when?

This is one of those Myspace bulletins... a great one! 90's kid all the way!

You're a 90's kid if:

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCH!"

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You remember when Kurt Cobain, Tu Pac, River Phoenix, and Selena died.

You know that "Whoa!" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got a new "Goosebumps" book every month.

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You danced to "wannabe" by the Spice Girls, and...

...females had a new motto, and males got a whole lot gayer.

You remember the craze and subsequent banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence... Not!

You played "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" at school and then went home to watch it on TV.

Captain Planet. Enough said.

You knew that Kimberly, the Pink Ranger, and Tommy, the Red Ranger, were meant to be together.

To the last sentence you said "Hey, Tommy was the green* ranger!"

Then you said "And he was the White Ranger!"

When playing Power Rangers with friends, you fought over who got to be who...

...and still all ended up being Tommy.

"The Console Wars" referred to Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.

You watched Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York... and tried to pull the pranks on your "intruder" siblings.

"I've fallen and I can't get up!"

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

Two words... Trapper Keeper.

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide

You wore socks over leggings scrunched down.

You played your tapes on a boombox.

Your favorite song was "The Right Stuff" by New Kids on the Block

...and when Joey McIntyre was on Dancing With the Stars, you felt like he was a real celebrity.

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere.

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.

You begged your parents for a new Beanie Baby every week.

You remember a time before the WB.

"Are You Afraid of the Dark?" was the scariest show ever.

You know the Macarena. (BPB people automatically get this one :-p)

"Talk to the hand."

You hoped Brain would finally take over the world.

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You wondered why the plastic Slinky didn't make it down the stairs like the metal one.

When we were younger...

We all wanted L.A. Gear... and L.A. Lights

You weren't allowed to get British Knights (BK) shoes because they looked like gang shoes.

We rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

Gas was $0.95 a gallon and Caller ID was a technological revolution.

We recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.

We called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

2Pac and Biggie were still alive.

The Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.

We had something called The Dream Team.

Tag.

The phrase "Get Over Here!!!!" means something to you.

Hide-n-Go Seek at dusk.

Red Light, Green Light.

Heads Up 7 Up.

Playing Kickball & Dodgeball until your porch light came on.

Hula Hoops.

Annoying Nano Pets & Furbies.

When Mufasa died in The Lion King, you cried... in a movie theater.

Happy Meals where you chose a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car.

Squeeze It and CapriSun

We watched...

Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ's still wrapped up in your TMNT, Power Rangers, Barbie, Fairy Princess comforter.

Woody Woodpecker and Chilly Willy

ThunderCats

Rugrats

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

More specifically, Bulk and Skull and Ernie the Juice Bar guy

Or what about:

Ren & Stimpy

Double Dare

Family Double Dare

Wild & Crazy Kids

Clarissa Explains it All

Salute Your Shorts ("Caaaamp Anawaaaanaaaa...")

The ORIGINAL cast members of All That.

Doug

The Magic School Bus

The Adventures of Pete and Pete.

Legends of the Hidden Temple.

Hey Dude

Dinosaurs.

Pinky and the Brain.

Sailor Moon.

Blossom.

Hangin' With Mr. Cooper.

Wishbone.

Bill Nye the science guy!

Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood!

Who could forget Snick?

And the original Nick @ Nite with Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Get Smart, The Facts of Life and I Love Lucy.

Where everyone wanted to be in love after watching The Wonder Years.

Go back to the time when:

Kool-Aid was the drink of choice.

Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school.

When Christmas was the most exciting time of year.

When $5 seemed like a million, & another dollar a miracle.

When you begged to go to McDonalds for dinner everyday.

When Toys R Us was cooler than the mall.

Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'.

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming 'do over!'

'Race issue' ment arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in Monopoly.

It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.

Being "old" referred to anyone over 20.

A chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning the lottery.

Scrapes & bruises were kissed & made better.

Where the best form of protection was "circle circle dot dot now I've got my cootie shot, circle circle square square now I've got it everywhere"

It was a big deal to finally be tall enought to ride the 'big people' rides at the fair.

When playing Nintendo was the hardest thing ever.
When Ninja Turtles ruled the world.

"Out of things" - poetryslam

the poem that got me first place. 10 10 & 10 rating.... first nmhs poetry slam this year 9/22/06. and it was the first poetry slam I been to. my first public recital in front of a large crowd (besides classroom ones).

I rapped it in front of the audience. I ain't gonna lie I was nervous but I don't let that shit take me over. I did it in front of tha crowd anyways. My legs was shakin when I was up there, I didn't care, I felt it, but didn't really notice it, or trip about it. I still kept strong and did my thing, and finish recitin' yanamean.

I just wrote it to get things off my chest.. and anythin flowin in my head.. which is what i always do.. but i chose to recite this one..
I guess it was really heartfelt to people.
thanks and congrats to christine for getting first place also .. and my partnah kim for getting second place with her rap/poem about hiphop being dead. PROPS for that and to everyone else who read their poems.and to those who were there to watch, listen, and applause.

MUSIC SPEAKS FOR ITSELF..

TITLE: "Out of things"

I been feelin kinda too stressed to even write up these paragraphs

Lately I've been too depressed to even have a few laughs

Right now I feel like I'm just all out of things to say

I feel like my life is put to a test when these obstacles come my way

And I don't even think I got anything else to say right now

Try not to end up like this again or follow this route

Cause I feel so damn wasted and to think about how much I try

Just flippin' pages as I write this diary about my life

Funny how I don't know what to say but I'm writin' up some real stuff

Thinkin' I'm insane to be able to handle all the things I deal with

Sometimes my world is twisted and my mind is blank

After all I been through, in the end who can I thank

Except for my family and friends, those who were there with me 'til the end

Only time will tell when my heart mends, and the friendships that ever bend

Can't even count each tear I drop, step I take and second I live

I do whatever it takes to make it to the top and whatever I can give

Puttin' a smile on everybody's face and fixin' that frown

Pickin' these people up when ever they feelin' down

I love when people know how to make me laugh, it makes my day

It just seems to ease my pain and make things okay

What really is life without laughter?

What is it without the dreams that I'm chasin' after?

I hope you understand the message in this song, stuff that I'm just spillin'

Takin chances, and testin', so before I'm gone, you know what I'm feelin'

And what I say is real, so listen to these Words that I'm speakin'

Words can't express how I feel but I know there's somethin' leakin'

I don't even know what I'm sayin' here, it's like I'm speakin my heart out through these words

I just feel like a mess, and still thinkin' how much it hurts

I can't even get through this song without my eyes hurtin'

No matter how hard I try it just ain't workin'

Right now I can feel like my mind is different

Contemplatin' strategies for my future and look forward to my visions

Actions speak louder than words so I gotta try this livin'

Action with vision helps me finish and make my decisions

The story ends without a sequal, like technique said, 'don't fall in love with people'

You know what they say, keep ya head up, stay strong, and move on...
