Good morning, good evening, good night.

I wrote this just now.

I got a story
You know, the usual
Hard knock life type poems
Every night, just stayin’ up past eleven
So you can pour out your thoughts, in a notebook
Like milk into a glass, side with a cookie, except the cookie is in crumbs.
But on to the emotions, it’s scrambling.
Like breakfast eggs in the morning, cause sunnyside up isn’t so easy.
Place that with a cinnamon roll, but it just isn’t sweet enough.
The tea isn’t warm enough.
I guess because I’m too young to know what warm and cold really is
Or that cold has gotten past the point where I can’t feel it anymore.
Age is merely a number, but my numbers don’t match up to my struggle.
Though it’s bad enough, I don’t gamble. My life already is a gamble.
Always try to appreciate what I have because
At least I’m not a person in Cosco, living off free samples
Or a homeless person, sleeping in the streets with no blankets
But covered in a newspaper with a headline titled
“Tragedy ensues, family loses son, daughter, sibling, or parent.”
Because you never know when the next person is gone.
In these notebooks, I ramble
Nothing harder than losing a couple siblings
Cousins, and whatever family
That’s my story, you know, the usual, hard knock life type joints.
Anybody can relate
I know you’re going through a hard time
I guess you can say the same about me.
Nothing is ever promised tomorrow, today
So just incase I don’t get to see you tomorrow, or today
Good morning, good evening, goodnight.
It’s gon’ be alright.

Poetry Slam 1/18/08

1st place, tied with Rokia. ‘grats

Did a collabo with a friend Elmon & his beatbox friend. Crowd thought it was dope

Yo, “I be loungin” word to Phife, I make sounds
Create lines and recite rhymes that stay inside of your mind
Check the time, way past nine and we still on the rise
Devise some chimes so I put it to use when I can’t decide
Let the rhythm move me, move my soul
The notes follow me where ever I go
Then I could figuratively pull in the tide
Yo that’s the people, vigorously listening on the side
Envisioning the ambiguous art that comes out of my rhymes
Cause that’s my heart creatively using my mind
However long it’s takin’ me as long as I’m wisely using my time
To make this music, peace within these lyrics
Not longfully confusing it, cause in the streets they abuse it
Like heat, without meaning, they load it and use it
Near anyone who is a threat to them, like a proximity mine
Except the target is the opposite, so my goal is to is to lyrically defuse it
Fraudulent ‘rappers’ and they obscuring producers
I ain’t tryna downgrade or hate, I gotta give it to ya
But um.. man I used to love H.E.R., she had such a strong presence
Even though they tried to destroy her essence, and realness
Plaguin illness to a crowd of millions, makin’ millions
Treatin’ the music industry like drug dealin’
Ya see sucka emcees twistin’ the dictionary definition
But whatever it be, the real meaning stays within me
I’m tryna create her a sequal, yo this is for the people!
Hip-hop yes uhh and it don’t stopp
